Guaranteed Removals believes that your online security and reputation are important and that you should feel safe when you are entering your information online. “Cybersecurity professionals are crucial in making technology and the internet a safe and secure space,” says James John, President of Guaranteed Removals. “However, the limited supply of cybersecurity professionals are struggling to keep up with growing cybersecurity threats.” As such, Guaranteed Removals is encouraging students to pursue their passion for cybersecurity with the chance to win a scholarship.
Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks and unauthorized use. As society increasingly relies on technology to power our everyday lives, the threat of cyber attacks on individuals and corporations continues to rise. Many of these attacks have the goal of leaking personal information or to extort money, which have led to larger issues such as identify theft and the destruction of companies. For small-medium businesses, recovering from these attacks is often impossible, as the average cost of a data breach is $3.92 million as of 2019.
The vital role that cybersecurity plays in protecting our privacy, rights, freedoms, and everything up to and including our physical safety will be more prominent than ever during 2020.
There are a lot of reasons to pursue a career in cybersecurity. Across the board, cybersecurity roles offer competitive pay, growth opportunity, job security, exciting day-to-day tasks and the chance to make a difference.
The number of unfilled positions now stands at 4.07 million professionals, up from 2.93 million this time last year. This includes 561,000 in North America and a staggering 2.6 million shortfall in APAC.
